These changes mean you need to ensure you cart is ready for the winter. Make sure your battery is in good condition. The cold mornings mean your started has to work harder, so your battery has to deliver more power. Fog, dark mornings and evenings, heavy rain and poor visibility mean you are driving with your lights on much more and also your heaters and wipers all drain your battery. This means your battery has to be in top condition and your alternator working correctly.
Have you checked that you have the right amount of anti-freeze in your car? If there’s a sharp frost, your engine could be severely damaged.
It is a legal requirement to ensure that your washer bottle is full, so make sure you also carry some extra screen wash, just in case you run out on the road.
